The Challenge

Lagerstein's official website served a different goal than the commercial case studies elsewhere in this portfolio: this was a touring band's site, where success meant fan engagement and tour and release visibility rather than lead generation or ecommerce conversions. The challenge was standing out in music and entertainment search results — a category where fan communities, streaming platforms, and social media typically capture most search traffic before an artist's own website ever gets a look from a fan searching for tour dates or new music.

The Approach

Full-scope digital ownership. As SEO manager, web developer, and social media specialist for the site, I handled the full scope of the band's digital presence — building and maintaining the website itself, optimizing it for band-name and tour-related searches, and creating social content to promote releases and tour dates in a coordinated way rather than treating the website and social channels as separate efforts.

Tour and release-focused SEO. SEO here was less about competitive keyword strategy against other bands and more about making sure fans searching for tour dates, merchandise, or new music could actually find and use the official site rather than relying solely on social platforms that surface content inconsistently based on algorithm timing.

Authentic content over commercial optimization. Content and site structure prioritized authentic artist voice and fan engagement over the kind of aggressive commercial SEO tactics that would feel out of place for a band's audience, which meant judgment calls about where standard SEO practice should bend to fit the context of an entertainment brand rather than a business.

Press and blog outreach. Backlink growth was built substantially through music press coverage and blog mentions tied to the band's touring and release activity, which is the natural, credible way an artist site earns authority rather than through manufactured link-building campaigns.

The Results

The site ranks for 9 organic keywords and drives roughly 24 organic visits per month, with a domain authority of 27 and 1,240 backlinks — a stronger authority profile built up over the site's lifetime through consistent press and blog coverage, even with a narrower keyword footprint typical of an artist site competing against streaming and social platforms for search visibility. The real measure of success here was less about search dashboards and more about the site reliably doing its job for fans and press whenever a tour or release needed it.
